So I would, then, call myself a 'maker' – of gardens, poems and tunes – and a 'singer', in that I perform poetry and music. In this respect I call myself something of a 'poetry missionary'.

I would say that in this life I only have one song to sing, but that the song takes many shapes.

For instance, I stood in four General Elections from 1979 as The Feudal Party. As its founder and only member I proposed an agrarian and low technology answer to the world's ills. It was, shall we say, a Party of poetry and husbandry.

And I was married, and have two children.
