We had visited the Festival the previous year on a 'hunting expedition' to track down Ms Ruth Padel who was performing. Ms Nauta, a woman of great presence in any event, on that occassion sported a bandolier of cartridges.

This year we had comfortable lodgings at 'Orchard Cottage' outside Ledbury.

This picture was kindly taken of us outside 'Orchard Cottage' as we prepared to make a first sally into the lovely town:

I had prepared the ground, informing the Fextival Organisers, notably Dr Charles Bennett, of my intentions and enquiring of locals after a suitable place for any outdoor performance which was also cleared with the local Police.
